WhatsApp and other sharing services
We can recover recordings from most messaging services including WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger provided the phone or tablet device is fully working and you can view the recordings on the device itself.
Note – it’s always better to have the original files available. Once you send video or photos via a messaging service they are almost always recompressed to make the file smaller. This does lower the quality and in some cases it’s very noticeable.
Sending files to us electronically
If you prefer to send your files to us using a file transfer service then we can accept files shared from Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox and WeTransfer. Be aware than some file sharing services don’t send at the original quality. More about that below.
Quality matters – Talk to us first
The best quality file is usually the original or a bit-fit-bit copy of the original. When you send a photograph or video via a messaging or file sharing service then it could have the quality reduced significantly. On a small mobile screen it might not look too bad but if you watch the video on a computer screen or television then it may be grainy and soft.
We can guide you through the best method to get your videos to us. You may have to call in with your phone or tablet – for many people this is the best option – especially if you’re uncertain or worried about signing up for things you might not be familiar with.
